Dental Treatment Plan



What exactly is a dental treatment plan and why should you know what it is? Well it's a plan that can be either simple or complex. A way that different steps will be taken to treat your dental problems. Depending on how many problems you have in your mouth these plans can have many different steps until they are completed. See not all dental work can be completed at once when you have many problems with your mouth. There are points when you may need to go into a dentist many times to have the completed work done over a period of many months or possible weeks.



Along with the treatment plan they will most likely keep what is called the DA Form 3984 on file, this will show the different steps that will be taken. A way that they can not only do an outline of the work that will be completed, but a way to keep track of each step as it is done. There are certain ways that this plan will need to be filled out and kept too.

In fact the first step to completing a good dental treatment plan will be doing a complete examination of the patient. This will not only be a dental exam, but one that will also look at the adjacent tissue, your gums and such. This exam will be how they can determine the overall health of your mouth and oral hygiene as well.

The patient may have quite a bit of plaque, but most likely this will not be the only problem that will be apparent. There will most likely be quite a bit of bleeding in the gums and many other indications of serious oral hygiene problems. To fix these problems you will need to have many things done in most cases.
Not only will you have to have the problem fixed, but most likely learn some preventive measures to use in the future. Because once the mouth has been treated to keep it looking good you do need to possibly change the habits that got you into this predicament to begin with.
